What are the seeds I could grow as microgreens & the healthy benefits of adding Microgreens to my diet
There are various number of seeds which we could grow as Microgreens. I personally trust that the microgreens should be grown in non plastic containers. So I use coconut shells to grow all my microgreens. Let's see what we could grow & the healthy benefits of each of them.
Fenugreek
Fenugreek or scientificaly Trigonella foenum-graceum give your body many healthy benefits. Fenugreek plays a vital role in aiding in blood sugar control & maintenance of healthy levels, it also helps body in improving digestion, research also say that it has capabilities to reduces menstrual discomfort. Fenugreek is also rich in vitamins and various minerals, such as iron and potassium, that is the best reason to add it to any nutrient-packed diet.
Green gram
In different parts of the world Green gram or moong dal (Vigna radiata) or moong beans are consumed while identifying it by different names. Commonly the grain is consumed by the majority. Why not understand the benefits of consuming mun beans as Microgreens. They are extremely rich in protein, high levels of fiber, various vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, iron and magnesium. These nutrients contribute to a number of health benefits. Better digestion, strengthened immune system and increased energy are just to name a few of the vast number of benefits you gain from them.
Mustard
Mustard(Brassica juncea), a very useful spice in kitchens world over mustard, gives you vitamins A, C, and K, as well as fiber and antioxidants. It also contributes to stronger immunity, better digestion, and protection against chronic diseases.
Pumpkin
Punkin(Cucurbita pepo) is a vegetable with great amount of nutrients. Pumpkins consumed as micro greens offer even better health benefits. Coriander
Coriander(Coriandrum sativum) or cilantro is a spice & a herb it's high concentration of vital vitamins, minerals, and not forgetting the wonders dose by its antioxidants. Obviously a good source of vitamins A, C, and K, and also the minerals it carries such as calcium and iron. Having said that, it also possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, contributing to overall well-being of the human body.
Commonly all the Micro Greens could be consumed in many different ways. Some of my friends say that they consume many of them raw; as salads, between their sandwiches, smoothies some you can sauté with organic coconut oil or as a tasty soup.
